Concrete collar of concrete strength class C30/37 LP (outside of the liquid-tight surface) with 4% slope and non-slip surface structure.
Concrete collar of concrete strength class C35/45 LP (within the liquid-tight surface) with 4% slope and non-slip surface structure.
The concrete strength classes C30/37 LP and C35/45 LP comply with exposition class XF4 and therefore guarantee a strong resistance against frost and de-icing salt.
The concrete strength classes C30/37 LP and C35/45 LP involve the use of air-entrained concrete. Depending on its assignment to an exposition class, concrete has to be produced as air-entrained concrete. Concrete of the exposition class XF4 may only be executed as air-entrained concrete. The assignment to exposition class XF4 applies – amongst others – to traffic areas that are exposed to de-icing salt. Since dome shaft covers are often embedded in the roadway and are thus exposed to frequent alterations between frost and dew, the use of air-entrained concrete is mostly recommended.
